Discovery Channel is interviewing bionerd23 at a flea market in Berlin.

Among the furniture, clothing, jewelry, books, dolls and dishes she will likely find items that contain radioactive compounds:

• Clocks, watches and instrument dials that glow in the dark containing radium or tritium
• Ceramics, receiving their color from the addition of various radionuclides
• Canary glass, containing small amounts of uranium providing yellow-green coloring

Antiques containing radioactive materials will continue to emit low levels of radiation for many thousand years. Please do not attempt to disassemble radium watches or instruments.
